Sophia is located on the outskirts of the charming village of Ghasri, which has restaurants, shops, a pharmacy and a distinctive red domed church. A short distance away is the fabulous church of ta Pinu that, since the rumour started in 1883 of our Lady of Ta ‘Pinu talking to a local, has been a pilgrim destination for many. Visitors include St John Paul 11 and Pope Benedict XV1. The Inland sea and spectacular blue hole are a short drive from here as is the local craft village. The capital of Victoria is a ten-minute drive away and a visit to the ramparts of the Citadel to see 360 views of the Island is a must.
